To mark the 35th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), two Penn State World Campus students organized a livestream celebration at the end of July open to all members of the Penn State community. It will include personal stories of impact, panel discussions, trivia, the history of the ADA, the presentation of a Student Accessibility Study, information about institutional accessibility programs and more.
Information about newly launched support groups for both employees and students will also be shared during the livestream event.
“Our livestream event aims to celebrate all the ADA has done for those with varying disabilities, promote education and understanding about life with a disability, while also looking toward the future with hope and passion to ensure these liberties are protected and expanded upon,” Lauren Shevchek, one of the event’s organizers, told Penn State News.
