Presenter Bio - Adrian Anderson

Adrian Anderson currently serves as an Artificial Intelligence Educator and Instructor at the University of South Carolina.

Adrian’s diverse career in higher education has spanned student affairs, academic integrity, and the ethical implementation of emerging technologies. Adrian’s professional journey began in University Housing, where he served as a hall director. In this capacity, he was responsible for fostering inclusive, supportive residential communities, mentoring student leaders, and responding to the evolving needs of a diverse student body. His experience in student development laid a strong foundation for his subsequent roles, equipping him with a deep understanding of student engagement and holistic education. From there he went on to work in academic integrity where he was tasked with evaluating alleged violations of the Honor Code.

As artificial intelligence began to reshape higher education, Adrian embraced a new challenge as an AI Educator. His current work centers on the responsible, practical, and ethical integration of AI in both academic and professional settings. Adrian is known for empowering students, faculty, and staff with the skills to navigate AI tools thoughtfully, emphasizing not only technical fluency but also critical evaluation and responsible use. He has developed and led workshops on AI literacy, policy development, and the future of assessment, guiding academic communities to shift from reactive to proactive strategies that align with institutional values.
