Presenter Bio - Correy Hammond

Correy Hammond currently serves as the Director of Student Success at Louisiana State University- Shreveport.

As an educator in higher education for over 15 years, Correy has spent his life using his personal and career experiences to help students define, clarify, and achieve their educational and personal goals.

As a first-gen college student, he was forced to navigate the psychological, academic, financial, and social complexities of attending a private institution away from home. However, because of the foundation set forth by his parents, failure was not an option. He was determined to not only survive in this new environment, but also thrive. Correy reached out to every University support available. Through the holistic support provided, he was able to grow and develop his leadership skills through mindset. He learned to see problems as opportunities and recognized that every challenge provided an opportunity to learn and grow. These experiences would help catapult him towards an unstoppable life of success.

He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration (Marketing) from Xavier University and Master’s Degree in College Student Personnel (Higher Education Administration) from the University of Dayton.

Today, Correy is a business owner, author, and trainer with over 15 years of experience in the leadership development arena.
