Presenter Bio - Dr. Ali G. Threet

Dr. Ali G. Threet is a higher education leader, researcher, and speaker committed to helping individuals and institutions move beyond burnout and disconnection toward purpose, belonging, and joy. She currently serves as the Interim Vice President for Student Access and Success and Dean of Students at Weber State University, with over two decades of experience in both secondary and postsecondary education.
Ali’s doctoral research, A Spirit of Abundance and a Mindset of Enough, explores how perceptions of scarcity, sufficiency, and abundance influence well-being, motivation, and leadership. Her work highlights how gratitude, generosity, and connection can proactively support mental health and flourishing across campus communities. She is currently developing the Enough Instrument, a scale designed to measure these perceptions, and is preparing to launch Joyfully Enough, a framework, book, and website slated for release in 2026.
In her speaking and training, Ali blends research, humor, storytelling, and hands-on strategies that help campus professionals create meaningful change. Her featured session, Isolation, Loneliness, and Mindset as a Student Affairs Professional Today, focuses on both the student and employee experience. It addresses rising disconnection and burnout, while offering practical, research-informed tools that participants can apply immediately to improve mindset, strengthen relationships, and foster belonging. Attendees will walk away with actionable strategies to support both students and colleagues—ensuring that care, community, and well-being are embedded into the everyday work of higher education.
Throughout her career, Ali has provided leadership to nearly all areas of Student Affairs and several key auxiliaries, championing efforts that integrate student leadership, career readiness, inclusion, wellness, and engagement. Her strengths—Positivity, Arranger, Includer, Self-Assurance, and Activator—shape her work with teams, initiatives, and training sessions alike.
Outside of her professional life, Ali finds joy in hiking, playing games, exploring new places, and attending concerts with her husband and three grown sons. Whether on stage, in meetings, or in the classroom, her passion is clear: to help people flourish, lead with heart, and live with a spirit of abundance.
