Dr. Gregory V. Wolcott has over 26 years of experience in higher education, specializing in orientation, transition, retention, first-generation services, conduct, restorative justice, multicultural affairs, student government, and leadership development. He has served as a chief student affairs officer for 10+ years at some of the most diverse institutions in the country. Greg currently serves as the Associate Dean of Students at Santa Clara University.

Greg provides leadership for the student conduct process, and supports the work of off campus living, basic needs, campus climate, and restorative justice. Greg previously served as Associate Vice President at two institutions, leading orientation, peer mentoring, cultural centers, academic support, student leadership and engagement, and student government advising. 

Greg has held leadership roles in NODA and NASPA and received NODA’s Outstanding Research Award for his dissertation on first-year student persistence. He was part of the inaugural consultant group for NODA and served as a consultant for 12 years. Based on that work, Greg launched his own higher education consulting firm Wolcott & Associates, providing consulting, coaching and professional development to campuses and individuals in higher education across the globe. 

Dr. Wolcott earned his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Ohio University and completed his Doctorate at the University of San Francisco in International and Multicultural Education. As a first-generation college student, Dr. Wolcott believes in the power of education to transform lives and uses this as the guiding principle for his work, volunteerism, and service to others. Dr. Wolcott lives in San Jose, California with his wife, three daughters, and his dog Leo.
