Dr. Washington obtained a PhD in Counseling Psychology from Southern Illinois University and recently transitioned from Northwestern University as Liaison to Black/African American students, after working at the School of the Art Institute and the University of Florida.  Both his research and clinical approaches center around the use of existentialism as a philosophy for exploring how Black people make meaning in their lives and find liberatory practices. He sees central to his role as a Black psychologist, being a healer, advocate and amplifier of Black people and our voices with a critical lens for how White Supremacy and other intersecting forms of oppression shape the Black reality.
