PresenterPhotoDr. Keven Allen is currently serving as the Director of First-Generation Student Success at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida.

Dr. Keven Allen Jr. is an experienced Higher Education professional with focused expertise in the areas of student development, student retention programs for underrepresented populations and facility operations and management. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Creative Writing and Religion from Florida State University, Masters of Higher Education Leadership from Florida Atlantic University, and a doctoral degree in the Higher Education Leadership program at Florida Atlantic University. 

As an academician, his research interests include first-generation student success, minority male retention, holistic support for underrepresented populations, spirituality and mindfulness, and educational leadership. Additionally, he served as co-founder and chair of the Urban Male Initiative at FAU – developed to address the educational gap of minority men in higher education.  Keven also contributes to the overall industry of Higher Education, having served in leadership roles in both the National Association of Student Personnel Administration (NASPA) and the Association of College Unions International (ACUI). He is a proud husband and girl dad!
