Presenter Bio - James Koebel

James Koebel, Esq. is Associate General Counsel at University of North Carolina Wilmington.

Among Jim’s primary responsibilities are advising on civil rights statutes and compliance (including the ADA/Section 504, Title IX, and Title VII) and representing UNCW in administrative proceedings before the EEOC, OCR, HUD, and other external bodies. Jim has spent his entire legal career as in-house university counsel and has presented and written for national audiences on various higher education law issues through the National Association of College and University Attorneys (NACUA), Association of Higher Education and Disability (AHEAD), Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics (SCCE), and other organizations.
