Presenter Bio - Jessica Shelton

Jessica Shelton is a higher education leader with more than 14 years of experience in transfer admissions and enrollment management. She currently serves as the Associate Director of Transfer Admissions at the University of North Carolina Wilmington, where she leads strategic initiatives to strengthen transfer pathways and enhance the student enrollment experience. 

Known for her student centered approach, Jessica provides thoughtful, data informed leadership in transfer recruitment and enrollment strategy, working collaboratively with campus partners, community colleges, and student facing teams to remove barriers and support students from first inquiry through enrollment.

Jessica holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education in Higher Education Leadership. Her doctoral work focuses on critical components of enrollment services—including financial aid, advising, and transfer student support—with a particular emphasis on improving equity and access for transfer populations. Driven by a deep commitment to student success, Jessica is passionate about helping students access an educational experience that can transform their lives.
