Headshot of Jorge Rodriguez

Jorge Luis Rodriguez currently serves as the Director of Dual Credit at UT San Antonio, where they lead the university’s dual credit initiatives and work closely with school districts, campus partners, faculty, and administrators to expand meaningful opportunities for high school students to earn college credit.

In this role, they oversee partnerships with school districts, develop academic pathways, coordinate student enrollment and registration processes, and work across the university to create programs that connect high school students with college and career opportunities.

With more than 15 years of experience in higher education, Jorge brings a student-centered perspective to their work. Before joining UT San Antonio, they served as an Assistant Director for the University Leadership Network (ULN) at The University of Texas at Austin. In that role, they supported a large-scale student success and scholarship program focused on helping students successfully transition to and through college. Their work included student advising, scholarship support, peer leadership development, first- and second-year student initiatives, academic success programming, and helping students navigate the many systems and resources that influence their college experience.

That experience continues to shape their approach to dual credit. While dual credit is often viewed primarily as an opportunity to earn college hours, Jorge believes the impact can extend much further. They are particularly interested in helping students understand how their dual credit experience fits into their larger educational journey—from high school, to college, to their eventual academic and career goals. This means considering not only which courses students can take, but also how they connect with campus resources, explore potential majors and careers, build confidence as college students, and make informed decisions about their futures.

Their work is grounded in the belief that students should be viewed as more than dual credit participants or enrollment numbers. By bringing together their experience in student success, advising, program development, and dual credit, Jorge works to create partnerships and pathways that support students both during their time in dual credit and throughout their broader journey toward college completion and career success.
