Marisa De Feo handles higher education and commercial litigation matters in Pennsylvania and New Jersey state and federal courts. Marisa has experience in complex commercial litigation and routinely provides higher education and K-12 entities with advice on issues involving compliance, policy, and liability, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and similar laws.

Marisa is a member of the Firm's Higher Education Practice, which has handled hundreds of matters involving Title IX and related issues for colleges, universities and K-12 schools. Marisa understands that these institutions have unique challenges and priorities and she approaches the work from a mission-driven perspective. She strives to provide practical advice that protects institutions without compromising their ability to fulfill their primary purposes.

Marisa brings this understanding and approach to matters involving employment disputes, student conduct, faculty relations, board governance, and civil tort claims. Marisa is a regular presenter at conferences on higher education law and regularly conducts on-site training sessions for higher education clients regarding compliance with the ADA, Title IX, and sexual harassment policies.

In addition to her higher education work, Marisa devotes a substantial amount of her practice to other complex real estate litigation matters in Pennsylvania and New Jersey state and federal courts, including various landowner disputes from eviction and ejectment actions to confession of judgment and breach of lease claims. She also has experience with disputes between brokers and buyers and general construction litigation.

Outside of her practice, Marisa’s ability to seek input from multiple interests and address complex problems is demonstrated by her work as a board member of the Justinian Society of Philadelphia and the Young Lawyers Division of the Philadelphia Bar Association.
