Matt Brandon '92 is the Associate Vice President for Alumni Engagement and CEO of the William & Mary Alumni Association (WMAA) at the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia.

He leads the WMAA not-for-profit Board and a staff to provide best-in-class service and services to more than 110,000 university alumni around the world. He leads teams focused on global alumni engagement, identity and affinity-based leadership, volunteer management, and alumni business services including growing lifelong learning and hospitality.

Much of Brandon’s 30 career has centered around the intersection of engagement and philanthropy. He got his start in alumni engagement in 1994 as associate director of programs for the WMAA, managing alumni chapters and volunteer groups and overseeing the Student Alumni Liaison Council. He also led planning of the New York Auction as well as key Homecoming and reunion events. From 1999-2003, he served as the WMAA’s director of alumni products and services, including alumni marketing, facilities rentals, sponsorships, and retail.

Matt has also served as the Executive Director of the Ridley Scholarship Fund at the University of Virginia, the Associate Vice President for Advancement and the Associate Vice President for Alumni Relations at the University of Lynchburg; Associate Director of Alumni Relations and Director of Alumni Marketing at the William & Mary Alumni Association; as Client Relations manager at American Insurance Administrators; and as Head of Public Relations at Hampton Roads Academy.

In addition to his William & Mary degree, Brandon also holds a Master of Science in journalism and public relations from Ohio University. He and his wife, Teri, are the parents of two adult children.
