Presenter Bio - Matt Imboden
Matt Imboden currently serves as Chief Student Services Officer in the School of Business at Wake Forest University, in Winston-Salem, NC, where he leads an integrated academic services and student affairs function of committed and passionate colleagues in support of student success within a wider University environment of seven Colleges and Schools.
Matt and his student services colleagues in the School of Business work to engineer student experiences that are supportive, engaging, and inclusive to help enable the School to achieve its mission of developing passionate, ethical business leaders driven to achieve results with integrity.
Matt is passionate about the holistically developmental learning environments that our institutions can create and believes that higher education and student affairs professionals have powerful opportunities to help make the world a better place. He believes that our institutions are most effective when we can identify and meet the diverse needs of all students, which certainly includes graduate and professional student populations who need and deserve programs and services delivered on their own terms.
Matt’s current day-to-day responsibilities include oversight for student support and programming strategies across the Business Schools’ ten on-campus and on-line programs, its graduate registrar functions for academic records and policy adjudication, student advising, degree progress and retention efforts, student organizations and activities, student conduct, program assessment, student case/crisis management, and a centralized student service desk. He also serves as a Deputy Title IX Coordinator in the School. Matt has worked in graduate and professional student-oriented settings since 2012, with experiences in more traditional undergraduate student affairs roles prior. He is a current doctoral degree candidate in higher education at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and he currently serves as national chairperson of the Administrators in Graduate & Professional Student Services (AGAPSS) Knowledge Community within NASPA. Matt is part of an active family of four including his partner Lauren and their two young children.
