Mercedes Amador is currently serving as the Executive Director for Student Development at Saint Xavier University located in Chicago, Illinois.
In this role, she leads and supports a team across several areas in student life such as orientation, campus programing, university housing, student activities, organizations, and government.
Mercedes is a First-Generation Double Devil with a BA in Communication and a Master of Education in Higher and Postsecondary Ed from Arizona State University. She found her passion in higher education through on-campus employment in Success Coaching, Peer Academic Mentoring, Residential Life, and New Student Orientation.
As a current doctoral student, Mercedes is focusing her research on underrepresented students pursuing a career in health care and will become a Triple Devil with an Ed.D in Leadership and Innovation.
When she’s not working or studying, you can find her raising two pups, taking a spin class, or supporting small local BIPOC businesses.
