Tracey Kite currently serves as the Director of Family Engagement at James Madison University.

Tracey Kite brings nearly 20 years of professional experience in higher education, with a focused and proven background in parent and family engagement. Tracey has served in the Office of Family Engagement at James Madison University (JMU) since 2005 in various roles and currently as the Director, where she has led the design, implementation, and assessment of over 200 programs for thousands of participants. Her work is rooted in the belief that informed and engaged families contribute meaningfully to student success.

Tracey’s leadership spans a wide range of responsibilities, including program management, assessment, strategic planning, and board management. Understanding that meaningful family engagement requires campus-wide commitment, Tracey prioritizes collaboration across the university. She works with departments across all divisions, but primarily with Student Affairs to connect families with resources, enhance communication, and create consistent messaging. She believes that strong partnerships between campus stakeholders and families play a vital role in fostering student success and retention.

Tracey holds a Master of Education in Educational Technology and a BIS in Global Business and Marketing Administration, both from JMU. Her breadth of experience, strategic vision, and dedication to inclusive engagement make her a trusted voice and respected leader in the field of family engagement.
