Description
Explore Alternative Solutions & Flexible Housing Options for Students Needing Accommodations
Colleges are seeing an increase in the number of students who register with student disability offices and many of those have psychological disorders such as anxiety and depression. It can be challenging to try to find appropriate and available housing accommodations for those with mental health disorders when our housing inventories are more limited than ever before. It seems that everyone wants a single room and there is only so much inventory available. “Hidden or invisible” disabilities can be especially challenging when implementing housing accommodations.
Our expert presenter will share strategies to improve the housing accommodation process for students in need of mental health accommodations. She will explore alternative solutions to make the current environment work for students with mental health disabilities, especially for those who request a single but are not afforded one.
