Navigate Complexities To Avoid Compliance Missteps
On today’s college campuses, we are seeing more students with disabilities register for disability accommodations than ever before. Guidance surrounding housing accommodations varies and can leave disability professionals confused on the purpose of housing accommodations, documentation requirements, and how to objectively assess access barriers. Complexities surrounding disabilities and the rise in demand is placing a strain on disability professionals to interpret and provide appropriate accommodation determinations. Additionally, the number of available rooms for housing accommodations can be in great demand across our campuses resulting in a conundrum of trying to accommodate more students with housing accommodation needs than available rooms in our rosters.
Join us on April 22, 2025 when our expert presenter will share practical insight into the requirements surrounding these types of accommodation requests, including some of the misunderstood and overlooked aspects of housing both on and off campus. You’ll explore the necessary processes and key considerations for a successful accommodation process, with the goal of balancing the protection of the institution and supporting the access and inclusion needs of students with disabilities.
Review hot topics in housing accommodations and learn how to say “no” to an accommodation request without triggering a complaint or a potential lawsuit.
