Foster Donor Cultivation to Support Critical Resources & Manage Vulnerable Students’ Needs

The federal government released data on students experiencing food insecurity and homelessness as part of the National Postsecondary Student Aid Study (NPSAS). The NPSAS:20 data confirm that more than 4 million students - both undergraduate and graduate - in higher education are experiencing food insecurity, and 2.3 million more students have marginal food security. About three in five students experienced some level of basic needs insecurity during the 2024 calendar year. These statistics are staggering – leaving institutions struggling to support and retain these at-risk students and uphold federal and local guidelines.

Systematically support vulnerable students by providing emergency grants, fostering donor cultivation for critical resources and managing their diverse needs.

Join us on July 28, 2025, when our presenter will discuss the emergency grant process from design to implementation. You’ll explore various strategies for fund seeking – including grant writing, donor relations and advancement, student involvement, day of giving promotions, and state/government funding streams – and developing a program, as well as creative solutions for addressing needs on campus.

Prioritize basic needs and design structures that support critical access for all students.
