Description

Recruit, Train & Capitalize on the Impact of Peers to Increase Engagement, Retention & Graduation Rates

Institutions rely heavily on peer coaches/educators to support students’ mental health, wellness, academic success, and leadership skills development. Recruiting, hiring, and training these indispensable student leaders is vital to support meaningful relationship building, social connections and the ability for students to navigate their collegiate experience successfully.

Ensure your peer coaching program is well-defined to accelerate your students’ overall success, ease their transition to university life, and foster the development of the skills and connections that will help them persist to graduation.

Our two presenters outline effective strategies for recruitment, selection, and training of peer coaches. They will share how they created a multi-faceted peer educator program that is self-sustaining with student leaders and campus support.

Capitalize on the intentional and student-driven relationships peer coaches/educators foster to improve success for all students – particularly diverse and traditionally disadvantaged college populations by increasing their engagement, retention, and graduation rates.
