Conduct Thorough, Fair & Impartial Agreements
Some incidents of sexual harassment and other sexual misconduct may be resolved through an informal resolution process. Managing time and resources in what can be lengthy processes, especially if the processes take place in the middle or at the end of what may have already been a lengthy investigation process, can be challenging for administrators. Management of participant expectations, documenting the process and outcome, monitoring tasks agreed to by the parties, and ensuring consistency and lack of bias can be cumbersome and exhausting. Cases are complex and there is fear of mis-steps and mistakes all along the way.
Join us on May 14, 2025 when our expert presenter – Pamela Peter, Title IX Coordinator for Students and Director of Student Title IX Case Management at Syracuse University – will explore the nuances of informal resolution processes to help ensure you are providing training that is specific to facilitating information resolutions including Title IX regulations, determining the appropriateness of informal resolution, techniques of mediation and shuttle diplomacy, managing bias, and trauma-informed facilitation. Engage in some tabletops of common issues that arise during informal resolutions.
Ensure your process is impartial and thorough by emphasizing the importance of comprehensive training and practice from start to finish.
