International student Vikash Kumar made his mark at Montana State University Billings. The business management major from India served as a Resident Advisor, student body president, a peer mentor and president of the multicultural club while also working in the IT department and as a guest chef for campus dining. And recently, he delivered the campus commencement speech.
“I did not really have a plan to do these kinds of things,” he told KTVQ. “I was just going to be an ordinary student.”
Yet, he got involved and became well known on campus. “College is a place where you get to learn every day from everyone,” he told the station.
“Along this journey, I was fortunate to meet incredible individuals who became my extended family here in Billings,” Kumar said during his commencement speech. “Friendship has no borders – and kindness, no limits.”
