Getting artsy as a new student at Harvard College (MA) is encouraged through the Dean of Students Office’s arts initiatives. They include a First Year Arts Room open to students for workshops and art-making nights, a First Year Arts Board that collaborates on both new and existing arts initiatives, music practice rooms within first year residence halls and a variety of hands-on creative pursuits to enhance the new student experience.
Past events have included creative writing and public speaking workshops, collaborations with the Harvard Art Museums, open jam sessions, trips to local arts events and institutions, and much more.
All undergrads can participate in creative programs through Harvard College’s central Office for the Arts. Offerings include a ceramics studio and programs, a dance program and the annual springtime Arts First Festival that showcases student, faculty and affiliate creativity.
