At the University of Montana, the UM Foundation held a fall 2024 crowdfunding campaign to raise funds for 11 organizations, ranging from the student newspaper to the Montana Osprey Project, the International Development Studies program, the Montana Model UN, the UM Eating Disorders Training Clinic and more. Crowdfunding helps support projects that often don’t benefit from larger philanthropic efforts.
The campaign is part of an annual effort each fall asking donors to support pivotal campus services, according to UM News. This is in addition to the UM Foundation’s annual spring online giving event called The Big Give, inspiring alumni, parents, friends and others to provide support in a 24-hour period.
