Hosting Dumpling Making Workshops was one way that some colleges and universities recently celebrated Lunar New Year. At Harvard University (MA), the Falun Dafa Club hosted a workshop, making dumplings from scratch and honoring the rich tradition of bringing good fortune and prosperity. At the University at Albany (NY), Provost Carol Kim hosted a dumpling workshop, showing students hands-on what to do.
The Dartmouth College Chinese Culture Society and the Hopkins Center for the Arts celebrated Lunar New Year with a banquet where students enjoyed traditional food while also sending wishes to family members in red envelopes, playing the Chinese tile game mahjong and participating in a game of Kahoot about Chinese culture, reported The Dartmouth. The following day, a traditional Dragon Dance, with multiple dancers operating a large dragon puppet, was held.
