In an effort to level the playing field and streamline the process of connecting students with on-campus job and internship opportunities, the University of Colorado Boulder’s Handshake platform recently became the only place to post campus jobs. The institution’s Division of Student Affairs page states that, “Improving access will also increase opportunities for students to experience the academic and social benefits of on-campus employment.”

Career Services has already been using the Handshake tool to share thousands of off-campus jobs with students. Posting on-campus jobs solely through Handshake will hopefully make navigating job possibilities easier for students. And employers can use the one-stop-shop to post jobs and track applications.

On-campus work offers another great benefit: “We have found students who work on campus at CU Boulder have higher levels of mattering, providing us an incredible opportunity to create personally meaningful experiences,” said Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Joe Thomas. “I’m grateful for the partnerships across campus that are helping make this transition happen. It will provide more access to students and support for faculty and staff hiring and supervising our students.”
