“The Yoga Man” at Lousiana State University (LSU) can be found most mornings in the quad, sharing circus arts and meditation techniques. Local man David Rumfellow never attended LSU, yet enjoys creating community with students – and getting some attention in the meantime. “I also don’t want to frame purely why I’m here as a selfless individual trying to help everyone,” he told the Reveille. “Because doing flips and getting some attention – like it’s cool.”

Rumfellow tends to join more students on Fridays when they come out to gather and play music. “I’ve been coming here as kind of a little soloist on Fridays to just play guitar with my friends,” LSU student Evan Drecker told the paper. “I don’t know all their names but we get together and we play some music and there will be new faces and new people every time so I like it.”

As for Rumfellow, “I do a lot of various circus arts and from the outside, I could see how someone would want to know like ‘What is that guy doing,’” he told the paper. “It’s been a warm welcome so far and I have really appreciated getting to know the students.”
