Johnson County Community College’s (KS) Center for Sustainability offers knowledge and enrichment opportunities that include tours of campus projects and the Open Petal Farm; coming to classrooms and community groups or meeting at sustainability-related campus projects for student, faculty, staff presentations/conversations/team-building trips; customizable guest talks on sustainability; curriculum-specific discussions; green building tours and waste audits that offer critical thinking exercises evaluating the creation and disposal of waste.

JCCC’s faculty have adopted sustainability course curriculum in almost every major, according to the college’s sustainability website. And the Center for Sustainability offers events to raise awareness, fund scholarships and support student ideas, such as the foundation’s Harvest Dinner, Earth Day activities, the annual Epicenter sustainability conference for high school juniors/seniors and college undergrads, the annual week of Harvest Days activities and a student Sustainable Ideas Contest.
