Texarkana College’s (TC) Construction Technology program recently teamed up with administrative staff members to build Blessing Boxes for the local Hope for Texarkana organization. The small, public, outdoor cupboards provide those in need with non-perishable food items, toiletries, baby supplies and more. TC Construction Tech instructor Michael Lee said, “It was not only a productive day to contribute toward the organization’s cause, but we grew closer together as a TC team.”
Over 50 TC staff members from the institution’s enrollment services, financial aid, business, marketing, human resources and Community & Business Education departments worked with the Construction Technology staff during the build day. TC President Dr. Jason Smith joined the effort, too.
“At Texarkana College, we believe in the power of service and the importance of lending a helping hand to those in need,” Smith said in a press release. “It was a privilege for our administrative team to work alongside Hope for Texarkana, united by the common goal of making a positive impact on our community.”
