Success Coaches in the Student Learning Assistance Center at Texas State University facilitate Accountability Groups that meet at set times each week for 80 minutes at a time. The idea is to create “an environment of positive productivity and provide dedicated time for individual academic tasks where you can apply positive study habits,” their website explains.

Students can work on tasks such as…

  • Studying for an exam
  • Completing assignments
  • Writing an essay
  • And more

And a reminder: “Please note that all group members are expected to attend their assigned group meeting time each week to contribute to the group's overall success.”

Space is limited within the Accountability Groups, so students must apply and then a Success Coach follows up with them.
