At West Virginia University, the Purpose Center is designed as “a place for exploration and connection” to help campus community members along the path of self-discovery. And now they’re holding the first Week of Purpose to allow students, faculty and staff an opportunity for self-exploration, learning new perspectives and engaging with others. Sessions include a multimedia Peace of Mind exhibit, taking the Gallup Strengths Assessment, a well-being speaker, an Ikigai (the Japanese philosophy which means “reason for being”) Book Club and much more.
The Purpose Center’s goal is: “We want you to spend time in self-discovery so that you know who you are and what drives you. Once you know that, you can apply those insights into everything you do from academics to health and wellness and from the student experience to networking and career preparation.”
