Bowling Green State University (OH) recently became one of the first higher education institutions in the U.S. to use Amazon’s Just Walk Out technology. The technology allows students to enter a new campus market by scanning their photo or credit card and then go shopping. Artificial intelligence detects their purchases so they don’t have to wait in line to pay and can just leave the store.
The store features convenience store-type items and locally sourced products, reported the Sentinel-Tribune. The Just Walk Out technology is a collaboration between the university, Chartwell’s Higher Education, Amazon and Transact Campus.
