Thanks to a partnership between the City of Oswego, New York’s Office for the Aging (OFA) and the SUNY Oswego Men’s Hockey Team, registered residents over age 60 looking for lawn care help will have their leaves raked this coming weekend. The hockey players will receive a list of yards that need raking and then split up into 3-4-person teams to get the job done. “This is a great partnership between OFA and student athletes to assist the older adults in the community who otherwise would not be able to clear their yards on their own,” said Oswego County Office for the Aging Director Sara Sunday.

“We are always looking for ways to give back to the community and this seems like a great fit, supporting the community that supports us,” said Travis Hyde, head coach of the SUNY Oswego Men’s Ice Hockey Team, in responding to residents’ needs.
