Ohio University’s Young Alumni Leaders (YAL) 2024-2025 cohort recently met to network and learn more about volunteer leadership. The 36 alumni from across the country will take part in seven in-person and virtual professional development sessions throughout the academic year to become “OHIO’s next generation of volunteer leaders.”

According to YAL’s website, “The purpose of the Young Alumni Leaders (YAL) program is to empower recent OHIO alumni to engage with the University and provide them with the skills and connections they need to be successful in becoming a future Bobcat volunteer leader. Focus will be given to the personal and professional development of cohort members with lessons and experiences relevant to both work and life to prepare you for future volunteer roles.”

During the first meet-up, in addition to networking and learning more about YAL, members were introduced to a special project that they’ll be working on in small groups throughout the year. They also attended a session on creative problem solving presented by a professor from the College of Business.
