April is Community College Month, a chance to tout the many benefits of why community colleges matter and how they serve both student and community needs. To help in this pursuit, the Association of Community College Trustees offers a PDF Toolkit for Community College Advocates filled with talking points, social media tips, press releases, sample op-eds and much more. And the theme of Community College Month is “Smart Students Go To Community Colleges.”

“The primary goal of #CCMonth is to increase awareness and understanding of the value of community colleges both locally and nationally through grassroots, localized outreach,” according to the Toolkit. “We believe that accomplishing this will advance appreciation for and reduce stigmas related to community colleges, and ultimately welcome more students through our doors.”
