After learning that fewer students are bringing televisions to campus and gaining a better understanding of what they expect from university TV services, Grand Valley State University’s Department of Housing and Resident Life is planning to install Roku boxes in common spaces across campus. The streaming devices will allow students to access shows and movies through the Internet, as well as YouTube videos.
The Roku boxes installation is part of the university’s SpectrumU plan. Time will tell if it encourages more students to gather in common areas.
